Bentley’s £1,000 special edition Bond novel has been replaced by the real thing with standard hardback copies of ‘Carte Blanche’ set to go on sale tomorrow.
Bentley launched a special edition of the new novel, complete with a Bentley-shaped case, bound in bespoke Bentley Nappa leather and a specific, numbered bullet exactly one month ago.
The Crewe-based luxury manufacturer got involved because Bond drives a Bentley in the latest novel and in typical Bond fashion the hardback versions of ‘Carte Blanche’ were delivered by an abseiling Royal Marine Commando to its author, Jeffrey Deaver.
A red Bentley Continental GT was on hand for the presentation along with a leather-clad Bond girl.
Unfortunately, at first glance the Olympic rings at London’s St Pancras International station look deceptively similar to the Audi badge.
It’s definitely a Bentley underneath, though.
