Ford’s latest image of the week harks back to simpler times.
It shows a double page advertisement for the Ford Model Y, a four-seat saloon that was available for just £100.
It shows the car, a simple strapline and the price – as well as the stereotypical family.
It was released in 1935 when it was the first car of its size available for that price in the UK.
That meant it appealed to a far wider audience than any other vehicle had before and helped transform the fortunes of the Dagenham plant where it was manufactured.
