Mauro Calo has smashed the world record for the longest car drift behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

Calo kept the Merc sliding sideways for a total distance of 2,308 metres destroying the previous record of 394 metres.

Despite the manner in which Calo bettered the previous record he was still disappointed with the result as he aimed to complete the equivalent of 12 laps of Mercedes-Benz World perimeter track; as opposed to the measly eight and a half he achieved.
